This is a page dedicated to the Berlin Wall which was probably the first attempt by man to build a prison the size of a country. I hope you will find this page interesting, I am still in the process of adding pictures.

Click here to see the pictures I took from the Berlin Wall.

A lot of my links are in German, if you need the English translation, just copy the article or word and insert it in the online translator. The translations won't be pretty but you should understand the main points.

"There are some who say that Communism is the wave of the future.
Let them come to Berlin."
--President John F. Kennedy, Berlin, Germany, June 26, 1963

Stationed in West Berlin with the 46th infantry Regiment in 1990/1991 I spent many months trying to capture the aberration which would soon disappear for good. I followed all 96 miles of the Wall around West Berlin on foot so no detail would escape my camera

From 1961 until the mid-eighties, 1.6 million mines were laid on the Wall between east and west Germany. The last mines from the Wall were cleared in 1995.

An unidentified man is arrested as he was trying to run to the West through the Chausseestrasse checkpoint on April 10th 1989.
